From Coffee Chaos to Controlled Chaos — Our Year So Far at French Settlement Roasting Co.
If you would’ve told us a few years ago that we’d be roasting thousands of pounds of coffee, building new partnerships, serving events all over Louisiana, running a mobile coffee truck, working on new product launches, planning future café locations, and somehow surviving on caffeine and sarcasm… we probably would’ve believed you. But we still wouldn’t have been fully prepared for this year.
Because WOW. What a year it’s been already.
Somehow we’ve managed to:
- Drink enough coffee to concern medical professionals
- Roast enough coffee to make the entire parish smell amazing
- Meet hundreds of incredible new customers
- Continue growing the Espresso Geaux family
- Expand our wholesale and office coffee services
- Build fundraiser programs helping local schools, churches, and organizations
- Start working toward some MASSIVE future plans
- And still occasionally forget why we walked into a room
Honestly… we’ll call that a win.
The Growth Has Been Unreal
This year has been one giant reminder that when people truly support local businesses, incredible things can happen.
We’ve watched customers become regulars.
Regulars become friends.
Friends become family.
And somewhere between the late-night roasting sessions, event setups in Louisiana heat that feels legally classified as a punishment, and loading thousands of pounds of coffee into trailers… something really special happened:
This stopped feeling like “just a business.”
It became a community.
Whether you grabbed a latte from the truck, ordered beans online, supported a fundraiser, booked us for an event, shared a Facebook post, or simply told a friend about us… YOU helped build this year with us.
That means more than you probably realize.
Espresso Geaux Has Been Absolutely Wild
The coffee truck has had one of the craziest years yet.
One day we’re serving coffee at sunrise… the next day we’re somehow parked at an event wondering how we became part-time electricians, logisticians, weather forecasters, and caffeine therapists.
We’ve met some amazing people this year through Espresso Geaux, and every event reminds us why we love doing this.
There’s just something special about watching someone take their first sip and immediately hit you with:
“Okay… THIS is good coffee.”
That never gets old.
(Neither does hearing “I don’t even normally drink coffee.” We hear that one at least 47 times a week.)
Behind The Scenes… It’s Controlled Chaos
People often see the finished product:
The drinks.
The bags.
The polished labels.
The social media posts.
What they don’t always see:
- The 2 AM roasting sessions
- The equipment troubleshooting
- The moments where generators decide they no longer believe in teamwork
- The packaging experiments
- The endless cleaning
- The spreadsheets
- The “why is this printer doing this?” moments
- The “we should probably sleep” conversations
But honestly?
That’s part of the fun.
Building something meaningful isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes it’s just showing up every day, solving problems, learning as you go, and refusing to quit.
We’re Just Getting Started
That’s the exciting part.
This year has been incredible… but it also feels like the beginning of something MUCH bigger.
There are projects being worked on right now that we can’t fully announce yet.
New products.
New partnerships.
New experiences.
New opportunities.
Some ideas are already in motion.
Some are still scribbled on random notes and coffee-stained paper somewhere.
But trust us:
We’re cooking.
And if everything comes together the way we envision it…
The next chapter of French Settlement Roasting Co. is going to be absolutely insane in the best possible way.
The Mission Hasn’t Changed
No matter how much we grow, one thing stays the same:
We want to create amazing coffee, build meaningful relationships, support our community, and make people’s day a little better every time they interact with us.
That’s always been the goal.
Not fake corporate energy.
Not trying to be something we’re not.
Just real people building something we believe in… one cup at a time.
To Everyone Supporting Us…
Thank you.
Seriously.
Thank you for every order, every share, every recommendation, every event booking, every conversation, every review, and every bit of encouragement.
You’ve helped turn a dream into something real.
And we promise you this:
We’re nowhere near done yet.
The second half of this year?
It’s about to get REALLY interesting. ☕🔥
